Company values are what support the vision, shape the culture and demonstrate what is important to the company. Those core values should mean a lot to you, the professional truck driver. Here are 4 reasons why safety as a core value should matter to you.

We have talked about this topic before, OK we have talked about it a lot. Here are 4 very good reasons why it has been a hot topic.

1. Lives depend on it

Lives, as in plural. Professional truck drivers have quite a bit of responsibility, including being an example of safety on the road. Your truck and trailer supplies the livelihoods of the country. Understand the responsibility involved with driving professionally.

2. It is more than accidents

CSA scores cover so much more than how many accidents a company has or does not have. Those scores also cover hours of service, driver fitness, controlled substances & alocohol, vehicle maintenance and Hazmat while also covering unsafe driving and crash indicataor.  TransLand Values Safety

3. Safety can mean the other driver too

While you may be the best driver around, all it takes is one driver not paying attention or being distracted to cause an accdient. Be aware of others on the road.

4. Patience is key

If you talk to any veteran truck driver, he or she will tell you that paitence is the most important skill a professional driver can learn. Everyone is in a hurry. Your safety should be a priority at your company.

If you are looking into a trucking company, you better check out and see if safety is a core value. Be smart. Be safe.
