[Company values](https://blog.drivetransland.com/4-reasons-why-core-values-matter-to-you) are what support the vision, shape the culture and demonstrate what is important to the company. Those core values should mean a lot to you, the professional truck driver. Here are 3 reasons why honesty and integrity as a core value should matter to you.

 Honesty and integrity are no joking matter. If these two qualities are *not* deep within the core of a company, you might need to be asking some questions. The following 3 reason are why those traits are important.

**1. Honesty is the best policy**  
It can't be more simple. You are taught at a young age the importance of telling the truth. That lesson should not disappear as you grow up.

**2. Honesty = Strength**  
By being honest from the start, you will be able to build *stronger *trust in your relationships.

**3. Responsibility is a given**  
When you are a person of high integrity, others will put *confidence* in your decisions.

 

Before you even talk to a recruiter at a trucking company, check out its core values. **Honesty and integrity should be beliefs the company holds close.**
